Edward Masen is a native Californian. He was a well-known trial lawyer in the San Diego area. He married Elizabeth O'Malley and they had one son, Edward, Jr. Edward, Sr. was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in the year 1992. He was treated and went into remission, but later fell ill again and passed in June of 1998.
Elizabeth is the widow of Edward Masen, Sr. She currently resides in San Diego, CA and works as a Registered Nurse doing per diem shifts in the ER. She is very close with her son, Edward, Jr.
Edward is a well-known professional baseball player. He attended the University of Southern California winning the Dick Howser Trophy for collegiate baseball player of the year in 2001. He was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks and spent the first six years of his career in Phoenix. He was signed as a free agent in 2009 to the Chicago Cubs. He is a three time Gold Glove winner at third base and has a consistent batting average above .300 for his career.
